Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC), a dynamic fresh pork processor based in Delphi, Indiana, is looking for a motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to work in our world-class processing facility. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the production operation by minimizing equipment downtime and completing preventative and corrective maintenance of production equipment.

This Mechanical Maintenance position is needed for 8-10 hours a day, including mandatory overtime and weekends. Shift hours for this position vary based on the team assigned.

This Mechanical Maintenance Technician position earns a competitive pay of up to $29.40 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Performs mechanic tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment
  • Schedules and performs preventative and corrective maintenance on various processing equipment
  • Diagnose, replaces or repairs parts, performs test and adjustments to resolve and prevent issues with various facility equipment and tools
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Commitment to following safety policies and practices while upholding the company policies and ethical standards
  • Collaborates with co-workers, supervisors, and managers by maintaining a positive work atmosphere.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of Industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience in maintaining mechanical drives, chain drives and conveyor systems
  • TIG/Stick welding and fabrication
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends as needed
  • Must be able to read and comprehend various prints, schematics and other company related documents
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and gear boxes preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to complete confined space, working at heights and all relevant safety training
  • Must possess personal hand tools for the position
  • Hazmat certification a plus

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on the site including exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is required. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in cold, hot, and outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.
