Job Summary: The Configuration Management Specialist (CM) will handle a variety of configuration management (change management) tasks. These tasks include but are not limited to checking in media delivered to the CM Lab, burning said media for distribution, creating Public Key Infrastructures (PKIs), tracking install schedules, keeping a variety of spreadsheets up to date, performing several duties in CMPRO, and tracking license expiration dates in DADMS. Minimal experience is needed. This is a very trainable role that needs someone organized, eager to learn, and able to manage a variety of tasks and data tracking. The position is fully on-site (with occasional telework days okay under special circumstances) and is located in a lab among a handful of friendly faces.

Responsibilities:

  • Check in/distribute software media to include creating img/iso files; hashes using PowerShell; disc labels.
  • Burn master copies of media and any copies requested in SMR(s)
  • Fulfill SMRs by preparing media for physical mail-out or sending via DoD SAFE or ARL SAFE
  • Create PKIs
  • Keep in constant communication with GCCS-M and MTC2 teams to ensure PKIs are being requested ahead of install dates
  • Oversee the tracking of software and licenses included in several software baselines; facilitate communication between CM and various team leads for license version information
  • Submit Last Date Allowed (LDA) Extension Requests, Lab Associations, etc., in DADMS
  • Ensure technical manuals are processed through the official documentation process
  • Assist in keeping several SBOMs (Software Bill of Material) and Environment Trackers updated
  • Facilitate auditing and reporting of data; ensure Configuration Baseline Audit Reports (CBARs) are being created and updated as needed
  • Work with product owners to ensure CM processes are being followed
  • Stay abreast of upcoming installs and test events, and assist in preparing SMRs
  • Assist in adapting CM processes as needed
