The Manufacturing Lead - 2nd Shift will provide shift direction and leadership for a team of hourly employees while assisting in the achievement of daily production schedules.
In the role of Manufacturing Lead - 2nd Shift you will:
Set daily priorities for the team as determined by supervisor
Solve problems, set direction, eliminate waste in process, own visual management processes
Act as a resource to attain all aspects of the production operation including safety, quality, scheduling and team development
Ensure alignment with department goals to attain business plan and support business commitments
Follow documented work instructions, verbal instructions, drawings, and train or assist less experienced employees
Report unusual conditions to the supervisor or manufacturing engineer
Report out daily metrics to management staff
Work cross-functionally to support all manufacturing areas in the facility
Resolve inventory issues and complete all necessary transactions to maintain inventory accuracy
Keep work area neat and clean and participate in clean up as requested
Be responsible for preventative maintenance on department equipment
Possess strong attention to detail and conscientious nature
Be customer-driven / focused
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Be dedicated to a safe work environment through effective housekeeping, workplace safety, etc.
Be computer application literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems.
Read and interpret documents such as master schedule, safety rules, operating instructions,
Perform other duties as required Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentEligibility Requirements:
Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Work 2nd shift
Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Desired Characteristics:
