We are looking for an Engineering Manager, to work for one of our clients, an aerospace and industrial manufacturer, located in Suffolk County, NY.

This is a permanent, full-time job.

In this role you will be responsible for the management of the optical engineering and systems engineering departments.

The ideal candidate would have a BS and/or MS in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering with at least 5 years of related experience, including 2 years' experience managing an Engineering or R&D group. Other requirements include a hands-on experience and understanding of managing complex multi-disciplinary projects and proficiency in Agile Project Management, tools and training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing detailed plans for new designs and products

  • Making determinations for equipment, staff and training needs

  • Proposing project and program budgets

  • Leading research and development projects that produce new designs, products and processes.

  • Checking their team's work for technical accuracy

  • Coordinating work with other managers and staff

  • Continuous improvement of engineering processes, procedures and ensuring these applied correctly.

  • Ensuring change management is effectively implemented in the engineering group.

The salary range for this position is $110,000-$150,000/year
