MAINTENANCE WORKER MONTANA STATE PRISON DEER LODGE, MT MISSION - *Montana Department of Corrections is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment. If you want to work making positive changes in the community the Montana Department of Corrections is the place for you! *JOB OVERVIEW - *This position: * Performs all assigned maintenance jobs within the institution, the Ranch, Montana Correctional Enterprises and on any Department of Correction controlled property by communicating with the respective staff, assessing the maintenance needs, and completing all assigned work in a timely manner. * Performs preventative maintenance for machines and equipment such as replacing belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, and cleaning gears. * Record and file paperwork associated with maintenance activities, such as requesting supplies and materials, filing vehicle reports, logging duties, and checking out equipment. * May perform general upkeep of buildings and properties. * Assists carpenter, electrician, Machinist, and plumber or as directed by maintenance managers. * This position will spend a large amount of the work time interacting, training and supervising inmate workers in the maintenance department. The hourly rate of this position will increase by $1.50 per hour or 4% whichever is greater starting July 1, 2024, in accordance with HB13. *REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS – *State of Montana Application /Applications submitted without required materials may not be considered./ Materials submitted but not requested may not be considered in the selection process.
