POSITION TITLE: Project Superintendent (experienced)DEPARTMENT: Project Management & Field SupervisionLOCATION: Deepwater, New JerseySALARY RANGE: $75,000 - $140,000 annualJOB NUMBER: 2024-G334-01DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:Nationally recognized environmental remediation contractor looking for a Project Superintendent to support a large and complex environmental remediation project in Deepwater, New Jersey. This project will be a long-term project estimated at a duration of 5+ years. The scope for this project includes remediation of radiologically contaminated soil and groundwater at the Former DuPont Chambers Works site. The waste is comingled with other hazards from previous operations at the site. Remediation efforts include deep excavation and shoring, protection, removal, and replacement of site utilities, handling of large quantities of soil (transportation, stockpiling, etc. exp), backfilling and site restoration activities, dewatering and wastewater treatment, and protection of the work force and public from environmental and health and safety issues. This full-time position is responsible for efficiently managing all field resources including providing overall direction and guidance to foremen, all field personnel, and sub-contractors in collaboration with project managers, construction managers, and project engineers for the specified project.The daily work will include:•Support Senior Superintendent to complete all work on the Project•Comprehend and administer a safety program that provides for a safe work environment that meets or exceeds company safety policies and fosters a culture that expects participation at all levels•Represent company supervision and management at the project and maintain communication with various contractors, sub-contractor, and local union representatives•Direct and coordinate the activities of the various trade groups on job sites•Ensure positive work progress according to schedule, material and equipment are delivered to the job site on time, and activities of various workers are coordinated•Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule and is staffed appropriately•Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions and provide input with scheduling, engineering, and material control to make sure project objectives are met•Assist project management in developing and implementing project work plans and procedures, working documents, and standards to ensure project goals are achieved•Comply, understand, and support corporate safety, quality, and environmental initiatives to ensure a compliant work environmentSKILLS/EXPERIENCE:Preferred qualifications include 5-10 years’ experience on environmental remediation construction projects and supervisory experience including excavation, earthwork, dewatering, sheet piling, and general construction work. Other job requirements include:•Demonstrated leadership ability is essential•Must possess a strong understanding of environmental remediation methods, heavy construction equipment, project scheduling, planning, and blueprint reading•Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills•Supervisory experience working in a union environment a plusSALARY/BENEFITS:An employee’s salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
