Volt is immediately hiring an off-shift Visual Weld NDT Technician for a local leading organization in Decatur, IL. This position is an off-shift, working either 2nd or 3rd shift with occasional weekend work.

As an Visual Weld NDT Technician you will:

  • Work as part of a team that provides visual weld inspections to the steel fabrications assembly group.
  • The team performs receiving, in-stream process, and outgoing quality audits to validate cast and fabricated structures per weld engineering and manufacturing specifications
  • Individual is responsible for tracking and entering inspection results in electronic databases.
  • Magnetic particle (wet/dry), liquid penetrant, visual weld inspection and other non-destructive inspection methods are occasionally required.
  • The technician would be based in the production factory building.

This is a full time contingent opportunity.

NDT Technician candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • Individuals must have a HS diploma or GED; an Associate degree or technical certification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years\' experience with quality inspection of welded structures or previous welding experience.
  • Previous experience with porosity, fusion, depth, and crack characterization.
  • Good communication, teamwork skills, and the ability to support a high velocity manufacturing environment are critical.
  • Candidates selected must meet all pre-screening eligibility requirements

Pay Rate: Between \$21.00 to \$26.00/hour. *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate\'s education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
