Ansible Government Solutions Long Term Care Registered Nurse (LTC RN) in Decatur, Georgia

Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Long Term Care Registered Nurses to support the Atlanta VA Health Care Center located at 1670 Clairmont Rd, Decatur, GA 30033. Nurses may also be asked to provide services at Community Based Outpatient Centers (CBOC). Multiple shift schedules are available. Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive nursing care within the professional scope of practice for a variety of diagnoses for geriatric patients

  • Conducts initial assessment on patients, develops nursing care plans based on identified patient needs, coordinates with ancillary services to assure provision of care, documents all plans, assessments, and care provided

  • Provides patient and family education through hospitalization, and initiates discharge planning

  • Administers oxygen, IV fluids, blood transfusions, prescribed medications, and titrate medications in accordance with VA policy

  • Observes and assesses patients’ clinical condition, recognizes and promptly reports significant changes indicative of complications

  • Initiates resuscitative measures in emergency situations

  • Operates and monitors specialized equipment including, but not limited to: oxygen, hypothermia units, and various types of suction apparatus, infusion equipment, and patient-controlled analgesia pumps (PCA), epidural pumps, sequential compression devices and vital sign monitors

  • Makes nursing care assignments for various skill levels of professional and assistive personnel as assigned

  • Prepares patients for surgical and diagnostic procedures and assists with procedures as necessary

  • Provides post-procedure and post-operative recovery care

  • Ensures that all JHACO standards for professional nursing care are met during performance of care

  • Completes appropriate medical record forms in compliance with VA guidelines and policies on each patient

  • Verifies the content and correctness of all recorded entries in patient record; all documentation/records/reports must meet or exceed established VA standards to include, but not limited to: timeliness, legibility, accuracy, content, and signature; outpatient records shall be completed the same day the patient is seen

  • Demonstrates sensitivity to cultural diversity, race, gender, and other individual differences in the workforce, in the Veteran population, and in the community

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Holds a diploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program, college, or university and hold a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any State; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred

  • Has been practicing actively as an RN in an acute or long-term setting for at least the last three years

  • Is capable of providing complex and comprehensive nursing care for adult medical and surgical patients

  • Has and maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications

  • Has no health or physical disability restrictions that interfere with performance of assigned duties

  • No Sponsorship available

All candidates must be able to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift

  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist

  • Lift up to 20 lbs

  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance

  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
