ITW Multicraft Maintenance Night Shift in Decatur, Alabama

The Sexton business fits within the ITW Drawform Division and is a market leader in the manufacture of high-pressure aerosol cans and after-market filter shells and is seeking a Multicraft Maintenance for its Decatur, AL facility, located 30 minutes Southwest of the Huntsville area.

This position is responsible for the troubleshooting, upkeep, safety, and overall reliability of all factory electrical and mechanical systems and processes. Quality, attention to detail, and accurate and concise documentation are essential for this position. Continuous equipment improvement, increased reliability, cross-functional training, and proper maintenance practices are key elements of successful job performance.

  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems in a safe and orderly fashion.

  • Diagnose, repair and maintain all plant control power, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.

  • Maintain electrical safety systems.

  • Assess problems for all capital equipment in plant.

  • Troubleshoot with programmable logic controllers (PLC).

  • Support new equipment installations, repairs, and changeovers.

  • Properly lockout and control equipment being repaired, maintained, overhauled, or in changeover.

  • Complete all PMs, work orders, and projects as directed by the controls engineer.

  • Support efficient utilization, consumption, and replacement of stock items as necessary.

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.

  • 3 – 5 years of multi-craft maintenance, electrical and industrial maintenance experience

  • Related coursework, certifications, and degrees preferred.

  • Journeyman Electrician license a plus.

  • Must have knowledge of primary electrical service, lighting, HVAC, hydraulic systems, and related building/facility requirements.

  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical manufacturing equipment such as but not limited to:

  • Hydraulic

  • Pneumatic

  • PLC’s (Allen Bradley preferred)

  • Basic skills with Fanuc robots is preferred.

  • Ability to read, understand and follow blueprints.

  • Familiarity with precision gages such as calipers, micrometers and dial gages.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot various manufacturing equipment with computer-based software.

  • Team-player with aptitude to learn the ITW culture and work within a fast-pace environment.

  • Ability to work 7pm-7am; M-Th and overtime as needed.

  • Demonstrate knowledge concerning general safety protocol and procedures regarding field operations.

  • Ability to work independently, manage projects and complete assignments in a timely manner.

  • Self-starter; works with minimal supervision; capable of offering up and making decisions.

  • Effective oral, interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Team-player with aptitude to learn the ITW culture and work within a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to maintain keen vision and mental awareness while practicing careful attention to detail.

  • Ability to collaborate with team members to support troubleshooting, problem solving, root cause analysis, and related process improvement activities.
