Position Summary The Director of Alabama EMS Region One Office is responsible for supervision, coordination and management of the Alabama EMS Region One office. Provide oversight to the daily actions and responsibilities of the Alabama EMS Region One office.

Salary: Appropriate placement on the ACCS Salary Schedule C3, Grade I: $70,955 - $103,055

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage and coordinate the work of the Alabama EMS Region One office ensuring communication, efficient administration and consistent application of policies, procedures and initiatives.
  2. Contribute to the development of goals, objectives, and programs that encourage enrollment growth, student retention, and high quality instruction.
  3. Prepare, monitor, and administer budgets for the Alabama EMS Region One office.
  4. Work closely with other areas of the College to provide consistency of services across the College's campuses and sites.
  5. Maintain or increase competency by seeking new knowledge, improving skills, and updating professional competencies.
  6. Develop, supervise, and mentor personnel with special attention to the needs of the department to stay abreast of changing technologies and best practices.
  7. Establish office routines and procedures to be used in maintenance of College records.
  8. Assign duties and supervise instructional personnel.
  9. Promote positive and productive relationships with service areas.
  10. Actively represent the College in the community.
  11. Perform all duties with professionalism.
  12. Perform related duties as assigned by the Dean of Health Sciences.

Qualifications

  1. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution and a minimum of ten (10) years related work experience isrequired.
  2. A minimum of three (3) years pre-hospital care experience as a Paramedic isrequired.
  3. Certification as a Paramedic licensed in the State of Alabama or subject to a reciprocity agreement with the State of Alabama isrequired.

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate through their experiences and accomplishments:

Competency in the use of current educational technologies in the classroom and willingness to develop and teach web-based courses;

Successful completion of an approved DOT EMS Instructor/ NAEMSE Instructor course;

Excellent oral and written communication skills;

Confidence in decision making and communication skills;
