Description

The primary responsibility of this role is preventative and corrective maintenance on stamping Die's in accordance with established standards.

Essential Functions

  • Perform welding, grinding, operate cranes, machining, & fabrication.

  • Smooths flat and contoured surfaces using power grinders, fits, and assembles parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms.

  • Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances.

  • Perform machining, finishing, assembly and tuning of dies.

  • Carry out emergency repairs if any issues arise.

  • Perform die modifications for surface quality and accuracy.

  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, shaper, and grinder, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.

  • Work in a team setting.

  • Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances.

  • · Adhere to ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 procedures and work instructions.

  • Log daily book entries to communicate activities, issues and progress of die work.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Die Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

  • Strong technical capacity to perform required repairs / maintenance while following safety protocol

  • Ability to be licensed to operate powered industrial equipment.

  • Troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Experience building and/or maintaining high volume casting (or stamping) dies, welding ability, and machining.

  • Experience in industrial maintenance and/or military experience.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required), Technical Degree preferred.

  • Some electrical and mechanical knowledge

  • Demonstrated success in troubleshooting and problem-solving

  • Technical knowledge and skills in the following areas: Tool & Die, Welding, Machining.

  • Strong mechanical and shop math aptitude (preferred).

  • Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.

  • (LOTO) Lockout / Tag-out.

  • Perform all work in an ethical manner.

  • Ability to manage time.

  • Team Player

  • Adhere to attendance policy.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

This job primarily operates in a plant floor environment and required the use of PPE. The job may also require working outdoors or in an office setting. This role routinely uses hand tools and various meters. In addition to standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
