Responsibilities

We are looking for a seasoned Senior WAN Engineering professional to join our diverse and experienced Global WAN Engineering team.

The WAN Engineering team defines the Global Wide Area Network connectivity solutions that ensures required communications and data is highly available and reliably exchanged within the Globally Distributed Wide Area Network.

The team facilitates the support of the WAN planning team for strategic initiatives and Network Operations team on WAN technologies of software and hardware.

The team preforms the evaluation, lab testing and validation of existing and emerging technologies on WAN technology applications, capacity, lifecycle to establish defined operational standards.

Together our team works to understand the changing networking world, identify new opportunities, and take action to design and innovate for the future of secure network connectivity.

  • Perform platform, configuration, testing WAN technologies to establish standards on installation, configuration, operations and management.

  • Engineering of global deployment of WAN solutions.

  • Perform reviews of WAN infrastructure to ensure they comply with configuration and security standards

  • Define requirements for new WAN solutions, including technical specifications and timing details.

  • Test and consult as new services as technologies evolve

  • Provide 3rd-level technical support to on-site and central operations personnel.

  • Engineer and Consult to develop and implement standard designs, support processes, and strategies.

  • Participate in ongoing audits, security reviews, consulting requests and change control reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Engineering or similar programs

  • 5+ years experience with Cisco WAN and SDWAN

  • 5+ years experience with Network management in a large organization, and SaaS, Cloud based networking

  • 5+ years experience configuring and implementing BGP, GRE , IPSec VPN solutions

  • 5 +years experience configuring and implementing Cisco ISA, ASA , Catalyst hardware and associated operating system

  • Certification in CCNA, CCND, PMP

Experience Required:

  • Experience and knowledge of routers and switches installation, cabling, loading, configuration, testing, and the development with reporting of various testing scenarios that lead to global production applications.

  • Experience and knowledge of IPSEC, MPLS, GRE tunnels, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP with multiple areas over variety of WAN transport with deep understanding of BGP protocol and peering.

  • Experience and extensive knowledge with Cisco Catalyst 9K , 8300, 8500 - ASR & ISR platforms with execution on Native and SD-WAN environments.

  • Experience and detailed theoretical understanding of: WAN/LAN Technologies, Cloud technologies, SD-WAN, IPsec, QOS, VoIP, OSPF, LDAP, SMTP, Proxy servers, Load-Balancers and network security protocols

  • Experienced and knowledge with physical cabling media & connectivity methods Ethernet, Fiber/ Optical, LAB environment testing methodologies,

  • Experienced and knowledge with performance monitoring tools, packet captures and analysis,

  • Experienced and knowledge with virtualization, API integration, MPLS, IPv4, IPv6 , Cellular (4G 5G ), preforming hardware and software evaluation based on WAN technologies – application, capacity, life-cycle management that standardize connectivity options, various failover & high availability designs.

  • Can create, development or validate operational materials and runbooks.

  • Experienced and knowledge with wide range IP infrastructure applications, e.g. DNS, SMTP, NTP, IMAP, RADIUS, FTP

  • Understanding of Pivotal Cloud Foundry Azure & Google Cloud Platform

  • Working knowledge of collaboration tools to work and communicate effectively across teams of various levels - WebEx Teams, MSTeams, Miro and MicroSoft Office Suite, Slack

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications, Microsoft Project , Visio • Ability to effectively use collaboration tools such as MS Teams, WebEx teams
