Talascend SL, LLC Calibration Engineer in Dearborn, Michigan

A Talascend client is in search of a Calibration Engineer with experience in emissions and On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) to join their team. This is a hybrid role, with on-site work based at our client's facility in Dearborn, Michigan

The ideal candidate possesses hands-on proficiency in engine calibration, emissions testing, and OBD systems, with a particular emphasis on emission/OBD transparency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform emission transparency testing according to Federal Test Procedures (FTP).
  • Conduct FTP emissions testing on prototype vehicles, both at 4000 RPM and under Full Useful Life (FUL) conditions.
  • Execute emissions transparency sign-off testing.
  • Conduct OBDII self-certification transparency sign-off testing, including a specified subset of tests outlined in Appendix C.
  • Offer calibration input to support all releases and ensure sign-off completion.
  • Provide OBD calibration tuning to meet the required self-certification tests.
  • Conduct R05 OBDII Self-Cert for the necessary subset of monitors as detailed in Appendix C.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1st Shift availability.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in engine calibration and testing.
  • Proficiency in data logging, collection, and summarization.
  • Familiarity with emission and OBD targets and objectives.
  • Strong grasp of emission regulations and standards
  • Experience with GPF calibration is advantageous.
