Job Description:

Complete various tasks related to maintaining and testing reference standards for biologics, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Essential Duties:

  • Help to manage the system or program responsible for organizing and tracking reference standards used in biologics production or research at sites within the United States.

  • Ensure that all activities related to reference standards and in vitro potency testing adhere to the guidelines and regulations set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

  • Conducts in vitro testing for stability of reference standards of pre- and post-licensure products.

  • Prepare and test small quantities of vaccines to aid in the development or refinement of new reference standards used in biologics production or research.

  • Provide assistance in the formulation (creation), dispensing (distribution), and testing of new reference standards to ensure they meet the necessary qualifications for use in biologics manufacturing or research.

  • Work closely with individuals from various departments within the organization, such as Research and Development (R&D), Production, Quality Control, and Regulatory Affairs, to help qualify new reference standards.

  • Prepare the necessary documentation, such as protocols (detailed plans or procedures) or reports, required for submission to the USDA to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.

Education& Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in a biological area

  • 1-3 years of laboratory experience

  • Animal health experience preferred.
