Put your problem-solving skills to work as a Senior Accountant in the non-profit industry at Robert Half, now offering a short-term contract / temporary opportunity. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Your responsibilities in this role

  • An endless desire to improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Function with business partners to ensure compliance with procedures and controls, corporate accounting policies, and provide support on special requests

  • Implement monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

  • Prepare reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts

  • Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

  • Arrange quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  • Put together monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Other projects as necessary

  • Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

    Requirements - Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

  • SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience

  • Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

  • ERP system experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • A demonstrated proficiency in financial reporting preferred

  • Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

  • Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are highly desired

  • Comprehensive knowledge of journal entries

  • Expertise in general ledger

  • Month end closings experience

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Ability to work well with functional department managers
