Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County Public Health Nutritionist I (OMJ/MC) in Dayton, Ohio

Position Summary: Under the direction of the WIC Program Nutrition Supervisor, the Public Health Nutritionist I is responsible for educating clients, including pregnant and post-partum women, on up-to-date feeding and nutrition practices for infants and children ages zero to five (0-5) years of old. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Nutrition. • Current license certificate from Ohio Board of Dietetics or Registered Dietitian eligible with current limited permit and agreement that employee must pass RD exam within 6 months of date of hire or current valid. certification as a Registered Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics • Must obtain 75 ADA approved hours of Continuing Education credits during each five (5) year registration period • Understands and acknowledges that Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County uses evidence-based and evidence-informed public health practices based on scientific research including health promotion theory and practice, environmental health measures, and communicable disease control measures including vaccination, isolation, and quarantine practices, and medicine for treatment and prevention of disease, among others. • Understands and acknowledges the use of tobacco or nicotine products in any form including replacement therapy products and prescription medications used to treat smoking addiction for any anyone hired after January 1, 2014, is prohibited. • Required to play an active role during the public health emergency, crisis, outbreak, incident, or event in which the Health Commissioner deems additional personnel resources are warranted.
