The Construction Inspector assists in the construction of public and private Infrastructure projects. The Construction Inspector works with Construction Managers, Design Engineers, Project Managers, Practice Leader, and Market directors for civil engineering projects for the Aviation, Water, and Transportation Markets. Responsibilities Learns responsibilities to perform construction management duties Some ability at analyzing and programs independently Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria Must consistently apply Woolpert procedures Assists performing quality control reviews and assists with quality assurance procedures within areas of expertise Assists managing the inspections of construction projects and materials for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and approved construction plans/specifications General knowledge at ensuring inspections are completed according to contract protocols. General knowledge at reviewing and interpreting construction documents, site drawings, as-built drawings, and specifications Assists in communicating with contractors if test failures occur. Produce daily and weekly reports Qualifications Experience working with ODOT and have relative ODOT Certification. Construction Management Degree and / or 3 - 10 years of construction experience Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel. Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels General knowledge of construction management, inspections, methods and materials Good knowledge of soil analysis, materials, compaction, and density tests General knowledge with construction observation reporting and procedures. Good daily report writing and accurate quantity tracking ability. Good communication skills with clients and staff. 10 Hour OSHA Construction Certificate or ability to obtain. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites as well as comply with applicable safety codes and requirements. Material Testing Certifications or the ability to obtain in a timely manner. Travel: Daily travel required within District 7 and 8. Resulting Physical Qualifications: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment. Must be able to occasionally reach, bend, climb and/or balance. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
