LJB INC. Mid-Level Structural Engineer - Safety in Dayton, Ohio

LJB safety professionals live and breathe fall protection and continually focus on new and better ways to protect workers. Our clients receive the safest and most cost-effective results because we provide comprehensive solutions that address all aspects: engineering, safety, procedures, and training. We are looking to fill the role of a Mid-level Structural Engineer for our Safety practice. The Mid-level Structural Engineer will analyze, design, plan, and create structural components and structural systems as they lead fall protection design projects for LJB clients. Pay: $95,000 - 135,000/year MID LEVEL STRUCTURAL ENGINEER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Performs QC reviews and oversight of project calculations and deliverables. * Assists with the preparation of construction documents such as those needed for installation of fall protection systems. * Coordinates with design staff to ensure accurate document and drawing production. * Prepares calculations detailing engineering design. * May coordinate projects by communicating with clients regarding project issues and attend meetings. * Begins to help develop internal teams to successfully complete projects by creating plans, setting priorities and deadlines. * Responsible for maintaining own technical knowledge through completion of various training initiatives: attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, attending in-house systems/management training (LJB provided). Additional Responsibilities and Duties: * Willingness to travel (overnight stays based on supported projects) to various US-based locations * Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency. * Ability to react quickly and calmly to high-pressure situations. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team settings. * ERP experience required, Deltek Vantagepoint preferred. * Understanding/Training in OSHA/ANSI fall protection standards. * Ability to pass background checks, drug tests and MVR check. * Other duties as assigned. MID LEVEL STRUCTURAL ENGINEER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS: Education: * Bachelor's degree in civil or architectural engineering with structural emphasis required; Master's degree preferred. * Professional Engineer (PE) required; Structural Engineer (SE) preferred. * Knowledgeable of industry codes and standards such as OSHA 1926 and ANSI Z359 preferred. Qualifications: * 4+ years' engineering experience possessing knowledge and experience in design of structural engineering projects, fall protection preferred. * CAD experience (Revit and Bluebeam preferred) STRAP or other structural analysis software experience preferred. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
