Job Summary CenterPoint Energy is looking for a Gas Engineering Director Indiana/Ohioto join our Team, located in Indiana/Ohio. You will have the ability to direct the preparation and development of long- and short-range plans, system design process, cost management, and support rate case activities to ensure the design of a safe, reliable, cost-effective natural gas delivery system that complies with federal, state and local codes, regulations, statutes and permitting requirements. Essential Functions Directthe development and implementation of design projects and practices, to provide safe, reliable and cost-effective gas distribution and transmission systems.Collaborates with the Gas System Planning group to develop strategic plans for system improvement and growth to ensure adequate pipeline capacity is available for all CenterPoint Energy customers. Coordinate with Gas Supply, Gas Control, Integrity Management and other stakeholders to plan and complete transmission pipeline designs, project scheduling and management of construction activities and integrity activities. Support regulatory filings as the expert witness providing written and verbal testimony, managing the preparation of exhibits and collaborating with Regulatory and Rates, Legal, Operations and other stakeholders as necessary. Regulatory support may also require direct participation in hearings. Develop and foster relationships to enhance customer satisfaction for CenterPoint Energy's existing end-use gas customers, State, County and municipal public works staff, regulatory agency staff and all customers impacted by CenterPoint Energy's construction and operating activities. Directand managethe development and implementation of annual and long-range departmental plans and productivity improvement strategies to ensure effective utilization of resources. Createan environment for continuous improvement and, together with staff, identifies and implements new technologies and innovations that will significantly improve the department's cost effectiveness and productivity. Developand coachthe managerial and professional staff using competency-based performance standards.Ensureindividual development plans encompass all core knowledge necessary for development of a High-Performance Culture.Recruitand hires staff using competency-based assessment tools to ensure complementary team building and to ensure staff displays a full range of customer, organizational and technical skills. Directprograms to ensure the suitability of materials used in the gas delivery system's construction. Directthe development of internal processes to ensure compliance with all relevant CenterPoint Energy engineering design, operation and maintenance and construction manuals and all other required codes and standards. Participatein developing consistent policies for design, construction, operation and maintenance of the Gas Delivery System through CenterPoint Energy's Management of Change process.
