Premier Health EDUCATIONAL SUPP SPECIALIST in DAYTON, Ohio

General Summary/Responsibilities: .

The Educational Support Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Manager of Education and Development with overseeing the development and implementation of clinical and administrative new employee orientation and training programs. This role requires a strong background in healthcare education, instructional design, and program coordination. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for teaching and mentoring, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams. Additional duties will include EPIC orientation and training with potential of providing EPIC Support as needed.

§ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems (LMS).

§ Experience with simulation-based training and technology-enhanced learning methods is a plus.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to push, pull, and assist in lifting up to 50 lbs (both patients and equipment)

  1. May be exposed to loud noises, aggressive, violent behaviors from patients, families, visitors

May be exposed to blood and body fluids, including those with tuberculosis, HIV positive, hepatitis, or body infestations

Must be able to work under stressful conditions which may occur in emergency situations or with a heavy workload

May work some evening and weekend hours to complete projects or to meet the needs of the department

Essential Duties & Functions:

  1. Assist with the development and implement comprehensive orientation and training programs for new clinical employees, including nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals.

  2. Collaborate with department managers and subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop curriculum content that aligns with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

  3. Design and deliver engaging and interactive training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques, such as lectures, group discussions, case studies, simulations, and hands-on activities.

  4. Coordinate logistics for orientation sessions, including scheduling, room setup, equipment preparation, and materials distribution.

  5. Create and maintain educational materials, resources, and multimedia tools to support training initiatives and facilitate self-directed learning.

  6. Evaluate the effectiveness of orientation and training programs through participant feedback, performance assessments, and outcome measures.

  7. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation in educational practices, content delivery, and program evaluation.

  8. Provide ongoing support and mentorship to new employees, serving as a resource for clinical policies, procedures, and best practices.

  9. Collaborate with human resources, clinical leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of educational initiatives with organizational priorities and strategic objectives.

  10. Stay abreast of current trends, research, and best practices in healthcare education, workforce development, and adult learning theory.

  11. Work alongside the Manager of Education and Development and theEPIC Support Specialist team to provide the highest quality onboarding and educational experience.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: Diploma Program

Additional requirements:

§ Area of study or major : Medical Assisting/ Medical Education

§ Preferred educational qualifications Current Certified Medical Assistant

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Active license or certification in a clinical healthcare profession (LPN, MA) preferred.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in healthcare education, training, or staff development, with specific experience in clinical orientation and onboarding.

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 5 - 7 years of job related experience

Prior job title or occupational experience: Healthcare experience preferred

Prior specific functional responsibilities: Medical Assisting, Medical Office Assistant
