Facility:Child Health PavilionDepartment:Clinical Nutrition & LactationSchedule:Full timeHours:40Job Details:Under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Nutrition and Lactation, the Community Food Equity Manager develops, implements, and evaluates operations for the Community Teaching Kitchen, Dayton Children’s Food Pantry, Food Pharm Box program, and community-facing projects involving food equity issues such as food insecurity, food access, and childhood nutrition. Teaches nutrition-focused cooking classes to diverse community groups and provides group medical nutrition therapy classes for a variety of patient populations. Demonstrates an understanding of the complexities of community engagement, population health, and organizational dynamics. Applies appropriate terminology for describing population-based nutrition interventions.

Fluent in cultural competency skills and speaks collaboratively with and listens to all audiences, including children, adults with lower-level education attainment, students, physicians, and community leaders. Manages the budget of all operations, maintaining focus on the differences between donations, grants, and hospital funds. Demonstrates systems-thinking by prioritizing consensus-building and conflict resolution in all interactions while also managing projects and operations according to plans and regulations.

The ideal candidate is a dietitian with strong cooking skills, passion for teaching families in group format, demonstrated ownership and initiative in developing and leading programs, and strong interest in reducing food insecurity.

Department Specific Job Details:

Position is a full-time salaried role with an expectation to be able to offer some classes in late afternoon or early evening hours with opportunity for flexibility in schedule to accommodate. This also includes responsibility for the Dayton Children's Food Pantry the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month from 3-7PM (with prep beginning at 1PM).
