Confidential Assistant/Associate Professor, Endocrinology in Dayton, Ohio

Job Purposes:

Wright State's Boonshoft School of Medicine Internal Medicine (Endocrinology Division){rel="nofollow"} is seeking a full-time faculty physician to join our team. Our unique community-based medical school, Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM), is affiliated with six major teaching hospitals, two federal institutions, and over 30 other healthcare institutions. Our medical students, residents, and fellows are exposed to a diverse set of patients, practices, and facilities, providing unparalleled learning opportunities.

The faculty member will be providing clinical services and contribute to the core Internal Medicine faculty team with duties including:

  • Participating in didactic teaching, journal clubs, clinical case conferences, and other teaching assignments for residents and medical students, as assigned by and in collaboration with the department and BSOM's academic leadership.
  • Contributing to the division's clinical/patient care, research, and teaching missions.
  • Clinical teaching and supervision.

Essential Functions and percent of time:

Academic Teaching & Research 25%

  • Learner didactics and mentorship, including medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Ongoing participation with medical student, resident, fellow, and rotation evaluations and related quality improvement projects.
  • Annual participation in the resident recruitment effort.
  • Attendance to assigned committees and meetings.
  • Sponsored research, as awarded and approved, with associated office and administrative time.
  • Grant writing and research administration where relevant and assigned.

Clinical Supervision and Patient Care 75%

  • Community-focused Endocrinology outpatient clinic service, with and without learners.
