Robert Half Staff Accountant in Davenport, Iowa

Description

Robert Half Finance & Accounting has partnered with an organization in Davenport seeking a full-time Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will work directly with the Senior Accountant and Controller, must be able to prioritize work independently in a fast-paced environment and possess strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

  • Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  • Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

  • Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

  • Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

    Requirements - Skilled with ERP systems

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Experience with financial statement preparation

  • Adeptness in journal entries

  • Strong familiarity with bank reconciliations

  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Foundational knowledge in Prepare Financial Statements

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
