Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides Tier 1 Level Chromebook support within a designated region of schools.

  • Engages directly with Teacher Librarians to determine the Chromebook support needed at the building or regional level.

  • Creates, receives or closes work orders.

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses issues to determine if the Chromebook is repairable or is at its end of life.

  • Repairs Chromebooks as directed through verbal or written directions, diagrams, drawings, technical manuals, OEM guides, or specifications.

  • Repairs Chromebooks utilizing tools, components and peripheral accessories.

  • Updates Chromebooks with needed software.

  • Maintains and follows safe working procedures and requirements when working with electronic devices and components.

  • Determines if the Chromebook issue is billable or falls within the warranty.

  • Maintains a physical inventory of Chromebooks within the department.

  • Tracks Chromebooks within the District’s tracking system.

  • Transports Chromebooks to and from assigned buildings.

  • Supports other technicians with Chromebook Tier 1 support as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Physical Requirements of Position:

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

  • Ability to operate tools, small components and peripheral accessories.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Musthave a valid driver’s license and a vehicle.

  • Must have the ability to drive a life truck.

  • Previous experience working with Chromebooks.

  • Must have basic mathematical and computer proficiency.

  • Ability to read, write and understand English.

  • Previous experience working with Google and Microsoft products.

  • Previous customer service experience.
