  • Must be able to teach all levels of the Language Arts curriculum to include willingness to accept higher level course assignment(s).

  • Knowledge and skills using technology.

  • Knowledge of the Common Core related to Language Arts.

  • Knowledge and application of literacy and writing strategies in the content areas.

  • Must work cooperatively with students, staff, and parents to maintain a positive climate in the school.

  • Must be willing to participate in building professional development initiatives concentrating on literacy.

  • Must be skilled at teaching in a team atmosphere and be a participant on a building focus team.

  • Willingness to work as a member of a collaborative teacher team.

  • Willingness to deliver curriculum for students in advisory setting.

  • Follow district and building policies.

  • Co-teach with special education staff in a collaborative effort to benefit instruction to all students.

  • Must have strong writing skills and be skilled in teaching all facets of writing.

  • Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reach his/her full potential.
