Description:

Nurse Practitioner to provide outpatient and inpatient Endocrinology clinical services.

  • A minimum of 40 hours per week attending to scheduled, and where required, unscheduled outpatients in a medical practice setting on or near the campus of the Hospitals. Other clinically related administrative responsibilities as required to adhere to high quality clinical standards.

  • As an endocrinology nurse practitioner, your duties focus on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with various endocrine diseases. Your responsibilities may also involve providing assessments and treatments for people with infertility or hormone imbalance issues and diabetes education.

  • Communicates directly, clearly and regularly with other physicians on clinical and practice management issues to facilitate good patient care and efficient operations of the practice.

  • Treats all practice and hospital employees with respect and communicates with all employees in a professional manner.

  • Provide consultation for pre-determined endocrine emergencies from the hospitalist service or Emergency Department.

  • Will provide call coverage for office practice when Physician is away.

  • Submits all required billing documentation daily and shall include all information required to bill for the services provided by physician.

  • Address messages, patient communications, and order request located with the clinical inboxes.

  • Submits prior authorization request for ordered imaging and/or medication when required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Maintain an active license to practice in Pennsylvania in good standing.

  • Maintain Board Certification in specialty.

  • Maintain active hospital privileges at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in good standing.
