STARTING WAGE: $20.00/hour + SIGN-ON BONUSSUMMARY:Operate truss manufacturing machinery to assemble trusses.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Handle lumber and perform miscellaneous yard work.Read and interpret truss-work orders, select lumber and truss plates, set up and stage truss components.Operate truss presses.Recognize and report assembly problems in a timely manner.Load trusses onto trucks.Learn sawing techniques and load lumber onto saw.Stack and label cut materials and band bundles.Maintain work stations and areas.Attend and participate in employer-sponsored training, when required.Perform other assigned duties, responsibilities, or tasks.QUALIFICATIONS:A Truss Worker must:Complete and pass a pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background screen.Possess or have ability to obtain Forklift Training certification.Speak, write, and communicate effectively in the English language (preferred).Follow and apply simple one- or two-step instructions.Have basic math and measurement skills.WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Truss Workers:Work in both an indoor plant environment and outdoor setting subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise, dust, and vibration levels.Occasionally lift/move objects up to 100 pounds, stand, and walk.Regularly sit, use hands, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear.High Mountain Truss (a subsidiary of Bloedorn Lumber Company) is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action employer.
