City of Danville Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in Danville, Virginia

Responsible for the medical and mental care of Danville City Jail Inmates Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Dispensing of all medications. Making all medical appointments for inmates. Ordering all medication and supplies needed to operate the medical department efficiently. Care of minor injuries/sickness of inmates following protocols set by the jail doctor. Obtaining blood/specimens for medical testing as specified by the jail doctor. Obtaining medical/mental health records for continuity of care. Assisting the jail doctor on weekly sick call. Evaluating inmates for complaints of sickness/injuries/mental health issues. Maintaining accurate co-pay sheets to be submitted to the account's secretary for deduction from inmate account. Completing medical transfers information on all inmates being transferred. Maintaining inmate medical records as specified by the Virginia Department of Corrections.
