JTI Leaf Services Cell Lead - Production in Danville, Virginia

Position purpose:

The role of the Cell Lead is to lead the line team to both set and achieve continuous performance improvement aligned with the site and market requirements. The Cell Lead owns the performance of the line 24 hours a day, every day, and is responsible for developing the team, for implementing the integrated work system (IWS) operating standards, and for achieving the results for their lines.

What will you do - responsibilities:

  • 24-hour, multiple shift accountability for results understood as safety, quality, reliability, production attainment, productivity and costs for assigned Cell; Owner of Cell DDS, responsible for DDS findings follow up and ensuring their execution;
  • Develop short term (24-hour) and mid-term (<90 days) action plans together with their Cell Team. Defines priorities for the cell team and allocates resources to support the plan. Participates in key planned activities;
  • Coaches team members of assigned cell in line with IWS principles, ensuring IWS methodology is in place, properly executed and lived daily to achieve the operational objectives;
  • Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and improving effectiveness of assigned Daily Management Systems (DMSs) for their Cell. E.g., DDS - Daily Direction Setting (shift, cell, weekly and monthly),CIL - Clean, Inspect, Lubricate, DH - Defect Handling, IE - Incident Elimination;
  • Ensure the consistent availability of human resources with adequate skill levels. Identifies skill gaps and builds the capability of the line teams, enabling self-sufficient teams through training and development.

Whoare we looking for - requirements:

  • 3+ years experience of leading a team in a production environment;
  • Bachelor's Degree or similar in business or engineering related subject;
  • PC literacy (MS Office);
  • Experience with production processes optimalization; Knowledge of tobacco industry, Knowledge on IWS principles and routine;
  • Fluency in English (Oral and written).
