Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit Classroom Assistant (#5012) in Danville, Pennsylvania
Classroom Assistant:
Danville, PA
Full time, school year position providing educational / behavior support for an alternative placement program located at located at the Diversified Treatment Alternatives Center located between Danville, PA and Turbotville, PA. The anticipated start date is August 6, 2024 for the 2024-25 school year.
Hourly Range is $13.00-- 19.50 hour. This is a non-exempt position following a 185 day school-year work schedule. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance; retirement options including Pennsylvania Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS) and life insurance options.
Education and experience requirements include:
- A high school diploma or equivalent General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
- The attainment of the Special Education Competency Assessment checklist (as approved by the immediate supervisor) within the first 90 working days of initial employment start date is required to remain in this position.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to accept great cultural diversity, flexibility to accommodate a changing caseload.
- Ability to cope with stressful situations and a professional attitude are required.
- Must have ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, co-workers, community agency personnel, and students/trainees.
