Job Description:

We have opportunities for experienced nurses & new-grad nurses (RN's & LPN's) on a full-time and part-time basis. Training provided. All shifts available . This position is ideal for someone who wants to make a critical impact in the lives of those who are struggling with addiction.

The Danvers Treatment Center is a medically monitored detoxification program dedicated to helping men & women by providing 24-hour nursing care to monitor an individual’s withdrawal from alcohol and/or other drugs and alleviate symptoms. As a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, the Nurse (RN or LPN) provides high quality care, adhering to medical standards. The nurse promotes a safe and therapeutic environment by treating patients in a compassionate and professional manner.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provides individualized nursing care to patients based on best practices.

  2. Assesses patients for withdrawal symptoms using standardized withdrawal assessment tools.

  3. Monitors vital signs

  4. Participates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of treatment plans.

  5. Provides group and individual education to patients on use, purpose, side effects, and other information relating to medications as needed.

  6. Administers medication based on established protocols to treat symptoms of withdrawal.

  7. Responsible for administering patients’ approved personal medication.

  8. Obtain and transcribe orders for patient personal medications.

  9. Communicates and consults with other members of the care team regarding patient’s status and needs, when appropriate.

  10. Respond professionally and appropriately in crisis situations.

  11. Documents pertinent information concisely, accurately, and completely, according to the established alcohol/drug protocols as well as any psychiatric/medical conditions.

  12. Assists in the admitting, transferring and discharging process, ensuring patient safety is addressed.

  13. Ability to provide compassionate support and counsel to those with substance use disorder.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License. Current certification in CPR.

  • Must demonstrate ability to relate to a substance use treatment population in a sensitive manner, an interest and willingness to work in a multicultural setting and must share a commitment to customer service.
