Description/Job Summary

The Packaging Technician is responsible for the proper identification of slit rolls and to ensure each roll is packed and labeled according to customer specifications. They are also responsible for the proper use of the packaging equipment, the preventative maintenance, and housekeeping of the equipment and the area.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Verify customer requirements by reviewing specifications book

  • Have the ability to identify Exception Codes and use the proper packing supplies

  • Print Labels at the Packaging Station and verify the roll data for each finished roll coming of the conveyors

  • Enter data in to the computer at the packing station and the stretch wrap station

  • Must be able to operate the Stretch-wrapper in both Automatic and Manual

  • Must beable to weigh the finished pallet and properly apply label to pallet verifying data

  • Maintain good housekeeping and a safe work environment

  • Interact and communicate with other packers, lead technician, and other co-workers as required

  • Ability to use a forklift and stack material with forklift

  • Assist with other duties as requested by lead technician

Product Safety

  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations of Inteplast Group

  • Reports any safety problems to a member of management

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Ability to Bend, Stoop, and Lift continuously

  • Fork Lift Certified (preferred)

  • Ability to lift 50lbs.

  • Basic Computer knowledge

  • Work 12 hour shift and be able and willing to work overtime as needed

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to work as aTeam Member

  • Self-motivated and the ability to plan aheadAS400 experience a plus
