Reference #: 85347-358689 Job Summary: As an Electrical Design Engineer at Gichner Shelter Systems, you will play a crucial role in determining and implementing electrical designs that align with cost and schedule objectives, as well as meet our customers' specific requirements. Your work will directly impact the success of our projects and contribute to our ongoing commitment to excellence. Key Responsibilities: Review customer requirements, including specifications, Statements of Work, and interface drawings, to ensure contract compliance. Attend job kick-off meetings and participate in design reviews with customers. Support the preparation and updating of task lists and schedules. Design AC & DC electrical systems based on customer specifications. Develop system layouts, subassembly configurations, and packaging criteria. Prepare wiring diagrams, schematics, and wire lists. Provide design input to mechanical engineers and CAD design teams. Review and approve drawings. Support production or prototype and electrical system build. Interface with other departments to resolve technical questions and issues. Create technical proposals, procurement specifications, and electrical analyses. Assist the Sales department in proposal development and engineering estimates. Review vendor/shop drawings, quotes, and proposals. Create electrical long leads and Cost Schedule Impact Logs (CSILis). Submit Engineering Change Proposals (ECPis, RFWis, etc.). Interface with customers, program management, and contracts to resolve customer issues. Contribute to product improvement, new products, and product standardization. Conduct failure analysis with clear problem interpretation and robust solution proposals. Provide risk assessment and mitigation for electrical design engineering tasks. Support company and customer test development and validation. Assist with Electromagnetic shielding and filtering.
