Planate Management Group LLC URGENT - Electrical Engineer (Palo Alto, CA) in Dallas, Texas

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be involved in planning and evaluating new projects, coordinating with other disciplines, and developing innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of healthcare industry standards, regulatory requirements, and modern construction practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate new projects, ensuring all design requirements are met in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.

  • Develop detailed design solutions for ground-up construction, tenant improvements, and infrastructure upgrades in commercial, light industrial, and institutional settings, with a preference for healthcare design experience.

  • Use advanced computer software to create drawings and virtual models, presenting design concepts to teams and clients.

  • Prepare and submit engineering plans, calculations, and drawings to public authorities for approval, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

  • Perform engineering economic analyses and evaluate building systems to meet project scope requirements, ensuring the adequacy of design solutions.

  • Develop and monitor project budgets and schedules, overseeing projects from initial scoping through construction support.

  • Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) packages that emphasize safety, constructability, and context sensitivity.

  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

  • Minimum of 8 years of specialized experience in electrical engineering, with a strong emphasis on healthcare facility design.

  • Must be a Professional Engineer (PE).

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry standards and regulatory requirements, including TJC, OSHA, and NFPA.

  • Proficient in using computer software for design and modeling.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with experience in preparing reports and client briefings.

  • Expertise in preparing and submitting engineering plans for approval, with familiarity in modern construction products and applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables from start to finish.

  • Must lawfully reside in the United States and eligible for employment (Planate does not sponsor visas or work permits)
