Summary

Primary function of this role is to supervise transportation functions.

This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show site based out of Dallas, TX.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate documentation and routing of outgoing freight and verification of incoming freight

  • Assist Management in directing an coordinating show coverage

  • Schedule shipments to ensure compliance with interstate traffic laws and regulations and company policies

  • Investigate shipper or consignee complaints regarding lost or damaged merchandise or shortages in shipment to determine responsibility

  • Provide freight estimates for domestic shipments to exhibitors, sales staff and project managers

  • Travel to show site as needed to supervise freight move-in or move-out

  • Assist Management as necessary with the review of incoming invoices for accuracy, notification of vendors for discrepancies, verifying we have received the appropriate discounts and resolution of problems in consultation with Accounts Payable

  • Assist Management as necessary with Month End reporting functions to include, but not limited to, ensuring show audits are completed and shows balance, ensure agency work tickets are updated correctly, ensure expo management shipments are accounted for and entered correctly.

  • Manages all Transportation functions related to business secured through branch.

  • Produces expected financial results through cost control, revenue generation, efficient collections, and quality control.

  • Provides sales support to personnel responsible for selling and marketing Freeman Exhibit Transportation.

  • Maintains relations with all carrier partners utilized under the Freeman Transportation core carrier groups.

  • Works closely with Sales & other branches to process information pertaining to services sold.

  • Ensures procedures and guidelines are followed for office and show site functions

  • Perform other functions as required

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two (1-2) years related experience and/or training

  • Must have a working knowledge of traffic management, carriers and ICC regulations

  • Familiarity with DOT requirements

  • Must have attention to detail, and strong service orientation

  • Must have ability to operate under severe time constraints

  • Must be skilled in the use of computer software such as Word, Excel and Access

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
