Description

If you're looking to further your career as an Accountant, the innovative team at Robert Half is currently offering a permanent opportunity that you might be interested in. As a team member, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Dallas, Texas area, this role is a career-building, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

Major responsibilities

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

  • Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Prepare and file quarterly statutory financial statements

  • Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

  • Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

  • Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

  • Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

  • Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

    Requirements - Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Foundational knowledge in Statutory Financial Statements

  • Command of Statutory Accounting

  • Microsoft Excel experience highly desired

  • Adeptness in Full Cycle Accounting

  • Solid understanding of general ledger

  • Statutory Financial Reporting experience

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"

  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
