Job Description:

Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine cares for children ages birth to 18 years of age, and e very child seen by this team receives world-renowned care with the ultimate goal of helping them live a more independent life. Diagnostic categories include neurological disorders such as: Epilepsy, Gait Disorders, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, Cerebral Palsy, Holoprosencephaly (HPE), Charcot-Marie Tooth Disease (CMT), muscle disorders and other related conditions.

As an institution committed to caring for complex neurological conditions, the team conducts ongoing research to provide the most innovative treatment to this patient population. Our team collaborates with Pediatric Orthopedics, Pediatric Rheumatology, Pediatric Anesthesia, Pediatric Developmental Disabilities, and other medical team members to provide care to the whole child. Inpatient and outpatient care is provided to Scottish Rite for Children patients.

Position Summary:

  • Provide exceptional medical care as a staff Neurologist and Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM) Physician

  • Candidate should have competency in or desire to learn IONM and be board eligible or certified through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with added qualification in Clinical Neurophysiology or comparable qualifying board.

  • Teach child and adult neurology residents, fellows, and medical students

  • Participate in neurological education

  • Participate in clinical research

  • Participate on institution-wide committees, as appointed

  • This staff member may be required to perform other reasonably related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management. The company reserves the right to revise or change job duties as business requirement dictate.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Candidates must be eligible for licensure to practice Medicine in Texas

Board eligible or certified in Neurology with qualification in Child Neurology

The preferred candidate will have secondary board eligibly or certification in following:

  • Clinical Neurophysiology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

  • The American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology

  • American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine

Our Neurology & Rehabilitation Medicine division is seeking a board-certified, fellowship-trained Pediatric Neurologist to be a part of this dynamic team. Faculty appointment ranking in Child Neurology through The University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center will be based on experience.
