HNTB Sr Project Manager - CMAR (Architecture) in Dallas, Texas

What We're Looking For

HNTB is seeking an experienced aviation professional to join our Dallas team at DFW airport. As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a Design Build delivery method for a major terminal expansion. This extension will include multiple projects by potentially multiple vendors. The position will oversee the coordination of all project efforts, administration, and technical design solutions. You will be responsible for delivering this complex expansion on schedule and within budget. This position is for a licensed Architect or Engineer who has demonstrated expertise in design build delivery method and can handle the management of the most complex aviation terminal project(s).

Responsible for the leadership and management of team in support of the project’s profitable operation. The senior project manager is responsible for proactively managing the projects technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications and performance. Will lead projects with a value of between $500MM and $700MM. 

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for preparation for of strategic plans for project success. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.

  • Actively manages client’s budget, schedule and program as well as HNTB’s budget and schedule. Administers project communications and documentation. Oversees office administrative tasks and project team assignments.

  • Estimates fees, determines scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts on small to medium size projects.

  • Responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, both administrative and technical, to assure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.

  • Coordinates work efforts and reviews work performed.

  • Integrates quality control measures during all phases of design.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or related field and 10 years of relevant experience

  • 2 years of successful management of Architecture projects

Job Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Serve as the senior on-site company/owner’s representative responsible for managing all administrative and technical requirements. 

  • Manage or direct the delivery of high-profile projects.

  • Provides oversight and management of Project Managers’/Construction Manager’s activities related to contract administration, DFW processes, change orders, submittals, procurement, project financials set-up and updates, and schedule to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner.  

  • Coordinates work efforts and review work performed. Schedules and manages for integration of quality management during all phases of a project. 

  • Provides executive level summaries. 

  • Work with owner to oversee all required permits and remove roadblocks for the General Contractor work to progress. 

  • Creates and manages project’s budget and coordinates the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) development. 

  • Knows and understands the requirements of owner’s contract, various owner entities, Client’s design intent etc. including bonds, fees, notifications, schedules, reporting methods and deliverables.  

  • Oversee the collaboration with pre-construction and design teams to prepare, review, and monitor plans & information related to all costs involved in developing the project’s budget. 

  • Develops plan, complies with, and reports on Minority Business Entity (MBE) requirements for the project, as required.  

  • Responsible for project administration and daily operations. Works with the Project manager, Construction manager and assigned schedulers to prepare and maintains the project schedule, milestone dates, and close-out checklist. Reviews with project staff each quarter and assigns responsibilities, execution, and follow-up plans. 

  • Participates in and support operations training programs and commits to the development of project staff and of self. 

What We Prefer:

  • Aviation experience

  • Large terminal expansion or vertical construction experience

  • Alternative delivery approach experience for large national and international airport systems
