Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant in Dallas, Texas. This role is primarily responsible for all accounting functions for assigned entities, which includes processing daily transactions, managing a portfolio of commercial real estate loans, and preparing various financial reports. This role is also involved in the implementation of new accounting processes and streamlining existing processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Process and review daily transactions including borrower interest, escrows for monthly billings, and debt service payments.

• Update amortization schedules and calculate loan payoffs.

• Manage a portfolio of commercial real estate loans, monitoring varying requirements and regulations.

• Review and analyze complex loan agreements.

• Process borrower payments, adjustments, interest, and escrows collected.

• Review financial postings for debt service payments, loan payoffs, paydowns, or modifications.

• Monitor maturing loans and prepare the required notices for borrowers.

• Reconcile various General Ledger accounts, including escrow cash accounts and liability accounts as needed.

• Handle the month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy of assigned entities, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness.

• Assist in the preparation of quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements.

• Work with the Tax department, as needed.

• Assist with projects and other functions, as needed.

• Prepare special requests from Management and Operations for unique analyses.

• Prepare various weekly, monthly, or quarterly management reporting schedules.

• SAP Requirements • Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant or similar role in the accounting field

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation

• Experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger

• Ability to perform journal entries accurately and efficiently

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for maintaining and analyzing financial data

• Experience with month-end close processes

• Knowledge and experience with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software

• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field

• detail oriented certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
