Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the distribution industry, located in Dallas, Texas, 75254. This role involves carrying out accounting and financial analysis across a complex operational environment, including multi-currency, multi-ledger, and numerous related party entities. This is a 3-month contract position with a hybrid work schedule: onsite early on, then 2-3 days per week onsite in Dallas, TX 75254.

Senior Accountant (contract position):

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise associated with improving accounting processes and help identify issues pertaining to the application of US GAAP for a variety of complex special projects

• Take the lead in system implementation and continuous improvement initiatives related to complex monthly accounting processes

• Mentor and train staff accountants, review, approve, and provide guidance related to reconciliations and analysis performed by them

• Collaborate with Supply Chain Management and Commercial Finance personnel to improve processes related to various subsystem, inventory, cost of sales, revenue, and gross profit reconciliations and analyses

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures, including providing financial analysis and support for audited financials and preparation of yearly audit schedules to third party Big 4 audit personnel

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure information is properly recorded in the General Ledger, including the administration of accounting associated with Leases, Fixed Assets, Revenue Reserves, and Payroll

• Utilize advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other MS products for efficient task completion

• Use analytical skills to resolve complex accounting problems and improve processes

• Implement the knowledge of technical accounting research, consolidation, leases, and fixed assets in day-to-day operations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role within the manufacturing industry

• Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Strong experience in Data Mining, Month End Close, Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation, and SAP S/4HANA

• Demonstrated ability to handle accounting for Multiple Entities and System Conversion Implementation

• Proficient in Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), Inventory Analysis, Audit Schedules, and Technical Accounting

• Solid understanding of the Accounting close process

• Proven experience in Continuous Process Improvement

• Superior Analytical Skills are essential for this role
