Position Summary...

What you'll do...

We are seeking a cloud services expert to help drive and deliver on our ambitious cloud platform strategy. You will be engineering our next generation of infrastructure using major Public Cloud Providers (Google Cloud Platform, Azure) in a secure, compliant, and efficient manner.

You will:

  • Develop and support Walmart's massive managed platform & services offering across multiple leading public cloud providers.

  • Build and improve a seamless PaaS customer onboarding and operation experience for application teams.

  • Collaborate with technical leaders across Platform and Public Cloud Providers

  • Direct root cause analysis of critical business and production issues.

  • Lead and direct large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects.

  • Be a technical lead and drive the team towards building a top-notch managed PaaS services portfolio, enabling cloud agnostic offering in a cost-effective environment.

  • Bring new ideas for product enhancement.

  • Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

If You Are:

  • Eager to work on the line between Software Engineering and System Engineering.

  • Writing code and integrations that are testable and readable, and paying down technical debt regularly.

  • Always seeing ways to incrementally improve systems and remove unnecessary complexity.

  • Willing to take responsibility for running a critical part of our infrastructure.

  • Patience with how an environment is currently, with an eye towards refactoring the environment into what it should be

  • Detail orientation and craftmanship

  • A desire to solve real business problems

  • Bias towards action and an ability to work autonomously while navigating uncertainty

  • Empathy for our clients and stakeholders in both technology and business roles

What you need to be successful in the role:

  • You could be a great fit if you have:- 2+ Years of experience with a Public Cloud Provider (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, etc.)- 2+ Years of experience with Terraform or Ansible, puppet, or chef- 5+ Years of experience with one or more Enterprise Server Operating Systems (Windows/Unix/Linux)

  • Prior Software Engineering experience at a startup, or mid to large sized corp.

  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.

  • Programming language proficiency in Python, Go or other modern programming languages.

  • Prior experience developing or working with Cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or OpenStack is highly desired.

  • Prior experience developing or working with CI/CD or GitOps systems is highly desired.

We'd Love to See:

  • Experience with successful migrations and management of applications in PaaS environment.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
