Description

The Program Management Director is responsible for the managerial leadership and direction of large complex project execution within strategic business initiatives, client strategy and development and large team project management. The Program Management Director will lead the department in a dynamic and profitable manner based on Burns & McDonnell's core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety and overall outstanding service

  • Manage development and execution of overall Program strategic business initiatives to achieve goals and objectives.

  • Provide direction and support business development efforts in identification and vetting of prospective clients and projects. Responsible for business development activities aligning with business goals.

  • Provide leadership to the Program team; direct and coordinate the multi-discipline department's, ensuring efficient and cost effective utilization of staff.

  • Manage Program related business development efforts.

  • Oversee the development of department tools and work flows to increase efficiency in project execution for the Program.

  • Direct oversight and management of Program budget and expenditure of funds.

  • Achieve stated targets and standards for the Program financial performance.

  • Present monthly financial information to leadership including project revenue forecasts.

  • Support strategies for cross-selling engineering services across the organization.

  • Responsible for ensuring alignment and support of Regional Office project management development, quality control and resource coordination.

  • Recruits, hires, develops, and retains outstanding employee-owners.

  • Responsible for conducting performance evaluation for selected department or direct reports.

  • Responsible for interpreting policies, purposes and goals of the organization to department personnel.

  • Adheres and responsible for compliance with Burns & McDonnell Quality Control program

  • Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.

  • Responsible for diversity initiatives.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in engineering, business or related degree from an accredited program. and 13 years relevant consulting experience, preferably in the engineering or construction industry or project management. Required

  • Expert experience in client and business development.

  • Expert experience in managing projects, which includes proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.

  • Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrated success as to budget, savings and/or profit margins in completed projects.

  • Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead and manage.

  • Excellent planning and analytical skills.

  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.

  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools including the use of Microsoft Project or equivalent.
