Robert Half Payroll Supervisor/Manager in Dallas, Texas

Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Payroll Analyst is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and processing the semi-monthly and monthly international payroll. This position is responsible for maintaining payroll internal controls; ensuring proper procedures, policies, and rules are applied to payroll activities in addition to functioning as a Subject Matter Expert to assist the Payroll Team with the administration of employee payroll level transactions and projects.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: · Process, analyze and balance payroll for semi-monthly and monthly payroll for selected companies. · Responsible for timely settlement of payroll and validating file transmitted to ADP. · Prepare and generate reports for validation and review on both pre and post processing of all payrolls. · Process final termination pay based on company policy and state regulations. · Upload expenses and other transactions into Workday. · Research, as needed, respond to internal/external inquiries. · Perform complex payroll functions (garnishments, local taxes, etc.) · Initiate manual checks, stop payments. · Assist with tracking of payroll metric and other logs. · Monitor legal and policy changes and conduct periodic self-audits of payroll while keeping payroll data secure and confidential. · Assist in training payroll team. · Review, analyze and propose new control processes to ensure high level of accuracy. · Responsible for the documentation of existing and improvement processes.

· Assists with preparing reports, including standard and ad hoc reports, queries, and audits to ensure data integrity. · Prepare federal, state, and local tax reconciliations after each payroll. · Back up to assist with reconciliation and review of all tax forms 940, 941 and non-supported returns. · Participate in the design, testing, and implementation of system enhancements and/or new systems. · Assist with payroll related audits. · Interact with Human Resources, Operations, Finance, and management regarding payroll related issue. · Support department with special projects and analysis

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: · Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting or equivalent experience required. · Three plus years’ experience in multi-state payroll and taxes required. · Three plus years’ experience using Workday payroll experience required. · Two plus Workday Report Writer experience preferred. · UK or other international payroll experience a plus · Certified Payroll detail oriented (CPP) preferred. · Ability to interact professionally in all matters. · Ability to adapt to highly variable and non-recurring situations requiring immediate attention. · Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel. · Strong analytical and critical thinking skills required. · Great organizational and time management skills · Excellent written and oral communication skills Requirements Automated Payroll, Full Cycle Payroll, Workday, Workday Payroll, Supervising, Multistate Payroll, International Payroll, ADP - Payroll, Excel Formulas, Microsoft Excel
