GENERAL FUNCTION

The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating various facets of a company’s supply chain, ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods. This critical position involves strategic planning, the management of logistics operations, and collaboration with different departments to optimize processes. The Operations Manager is instrumental in ensuring a seamless and efficient day-to-day execution of logistics. From the moment a Purchase Order or Sales Order is released, this role should guarantee the smooth flow of both system and physical processes, ensuring on-time and complete deliveries.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and optimize the entire supply chain process, from procurement to distribution.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure availability while minimizing excess stock.

  • Distribution and Transportation: Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods, ensuring timely delivery to customers or distribution centers.

  • Oversee the import process of goods into the US, to ensure a smooth and compliant customs clearance process from 3PL and brokers.

  • Oversee warehouse operations, including storage, organization, and distribution of goods.

  • Develop and implement cost-effective logistics solutions to maximize efficiency and minimize expenses.

  • Work closely with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure effective collaboration and performance.

  • Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance logistics processes and efficiency.

Logistics Coordination

  • Daily Coordination of Inbound Flows with 3PL and all parties involved (monitoring of all possible failure points after a PO is issued)

  • Daily Coordination of Outbound Flows with 3PL and with the carriers (transportation requirements, priorities, expected shipping dates

  • Able to summarize and present issues/backlog during weekly and monthly reviews with 3PL.

  • Logistics Cost Control (budgeting and check of invoices)

  • Service Level Control and KPIs Implementation

Business Operations

  • Monitor order flow end-to-end (from when PO/SO are released, until the order is delivered)

  • Deep knowledge of business priorities, partnering with sales and service organization

  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft GP and capability to extract and analyze data (root causing)

  • Definition of Standard Operating Procedures whenever missing

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 yrs’ experience in logistics, creating controls, KPIs, optimizing carriers, transportation flows In & Out, warehousing processes.

  • Strong in the system, from query to data analytics. Proficient in logistics software and tools, as well as Excel. Exposure to ERPs, such as Oracle, Microsoft, SAP.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.

  • Proven exp in logistics management and project management, with a track record of successful supply chain optimization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities, verbal and written.

  • Well organized and able to handle detailed work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated with high sense of urgency, resourcefulness, and adaptability.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Microsoft Great Plains experience.

  • Proficiency in data management tools, like Microsoft Access, Alteryx, Power BI

  • Exposure to ophthalmic instruments or similar medical devices preferred.

  • Knowledge of customs import processes.

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and continuous improvement tools.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
