Blue Industries Machine Operator in Dallas, Texas

Blue Star Glass (http://www.bluestarglass.net) , an architectural glass manufacturer with its headquarters in New Jersey, is expanding to a branch in Dallas, Texas.

This branch in Texas will produce high-performance insulated glass units on a fully-automated state-of-the-art production line.

Blue Star Glass is searching for a starting team who can work together to bring this air-conditioned factory to life and produce a high-end product that we continue to be proud of.

Our goal is for starting team members to be cross-trained & grow into future production leaders as we expand.

Function:

  • To efficiently perform daily job duties, including operation of machinery related to assigned production area (Cutting, Heat Treatment, and Insulating).

  • Perform troubleshooting as needed & in accordance with quality checks & processes.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily operation of production equipment in assigned area of cutting, heat treating or insulating.

  • Troubleshoots general equipment issues/errors communicates & management and maintenance department to reach solutions.

  • Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with machinery check needs & department procedures.

  • Inspect and review products for quality ensuring standards are met, and document findings.

Applicant Minimum Qualifications:

Must meet all of the following:

· Ability to work in the United States

· 18 years old or older

· Willingness to work off-shift and weekends

· Ability to read & understand work instructions (English)

· Ability to read a tape measure

· Has basic math knowledge including basic geometry & fractions

· Must be able to safely execute job functions

· Must have basic computer knowledge and be open to ongoing training and growth

Must meet one of the following:

· One year of continuous employment at one employer within the past 5 years. Recent manufacturing experience preferred.

· Attended six months of college, technical or vocational school in the past 12 months.

· Military experience within the past 5 years with honorable discharge

· High school graduate within the past 12 months

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently; 75 lbs occasionally and 100 lbs rarely

Preferred Experience:

· Experience in glass manufacturing
