Injection Molding Operator

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for an Injection Molding Operator to be based out of Dallas, TX. Reporting to the Molding Manager, this Molding Operators primary focus will be tending the machines, packaging parts, basic material handling, and accomplishing daily production goals.

What youll do:

  • Run various machines and equipment within the molding department
  • Process and complete paperwork, and operate a forklift as required
  • Progress towards a Molding Technician, where youll oversee preventative maintenance on machines, manage changing out tools and molds, and train Injection Molding Associates
  • Follow plant safety rules and wear proper PPE, which includes safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toe boots/shoes, and gloves
  • Perform Other Duties as Assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum educational requirement is high school diploma, or equivalent
  • Experience reading and interpreting work orders
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
  • Have an attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization
  • All associates must embrace and foster an environment that supports our core values of Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Teamwork and Accountability
  • Previous machine operating and forklift experience is a plus

As a Level 1, youll:

  • Verify quantities per box and per pallet, and ensure part numbers and labels are accurate
  • Conduct quality control specifications on finished product throughout the run, including inspecting products for surface and dimension defects
  • Complete quality control paperwork on finished products
  • Tend to alarms and alert Technician or Operator 2/3 if needed
  • Perform consistent checks on material systems to ensure their fully loaded
  • Perform cleaning and inspection duties as required

As Level 2, youll:

  • Read and interpret works orders as they come through
  • Learn and complete purging duties on all machines
  • Answer alarms on machines and perform corrective actions
  • Remove damaged or defective parts from the mold as required

As a Level 3, youll:

  • Set up, operate, and tend to all machines
  • Perform mold and resin changes for machines and setups
  • Set tool, tonnage, and injection molding parameters

Within 3 months, youll:

  • Complete any required training
  • Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
  • Be well-versed in Atkores Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.
