Robert Half Entry Level Staff Accountant in Dallas, Texas

Description Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a long-term contract / temporary to hire role. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Based in the Dallas, Texas region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.

What you get to do every single day

  • Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

  • Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

  • Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

  • Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

  • Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision

  • Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Command of account reconciliation

  • Quality experience with Journal Entry Preparation

  • Earlier work involving Debit Credit

  • Practical knowledge of journal entries

  • Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience

  • Comprehension of Excalibur

  • Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Excel

  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • General ledger experience

  • Cash reconciliations experience highly desired

  • Good understanding of Debit Memo

  • Skills in WolfePak

  • Wide ranging experience with month end closings

  • General familiarity with Adjusting Journal Entries

  • Bank reconciliations experience

  • Previous experience working with Credit Memo

  • Vow to meet business deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Skilled with ERP systems
