About the Role:

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is looking for a Data Scientist . You will provide the department with support in analyzing, modeling, and presenting data using statistical analysis and data visualization techniques and best practices. Analysis will support our call center with call volume forecasting, workforce management, market research and other department operational issues/challenges and assist in implementing solutions.

You Will:

  • Work with team members in the department to understand and define issues that require the collection and analysis of data to support robust decision making.

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to produce statistical models, reports, presentations, data visualizations, and proposals that will help organizational leaders make informed and data driven business decisions.

  • Develop queries, validate and export data in various formats for department dashboards / metrics, automating the delivery where possible.

  • Collaborate with data engineers to maintain and enhance infrastructure systems that connect internal data sets; creates new data collection frameworks for structured and unstructured data.

  • Prepare ad hoc operations analyses including analysis of operational effectiveness, capacity utilization and marketing effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement.

  • Evaluate and present opportunities for implementation of machine learning and AI models to improve operational efficiency or enhance the customer experience.

You Have:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, data science, computer science or related quantitative field; Master’s degree is a plus.

  • 2+ years of related work experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of large data set manipulation using SQL.

  • Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Microsoft PowerBI is required; experience creating paginated reports is a plus.

  • Experience coding with scripting languages such as R and Python and knowledge of machine learning is a plus.

  • Experience with AWS infrastructure and tools, including Redshift, SageMaker, and QuickSight is a plus.

  • Strong quantitative, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong time management skills including multi-tasking, managing deadlines and providing project oversight.

  • Excellent written, verbal (including public speaking) and listening skills.

  • Ability to maintain trust and integrity when working with confidential situations and information.

  • Strong proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Excel.

  • Call Center industry knowledge / experience is a plus.

  • Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above requirements.

This position may be filled at various levels based on candidate's qualifications as determined by the department.

This role allows for the employee to work in a hybrid manner with some work conducted onsite at the Federal Reserve work location and some work conducted remotely. Specific schedule details will be discussed during the recruitment process.
