Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Direct the clinical nutrition aspects of the Dietary Department

  • Provide total nutrition care for patients at Scottish Rite for Children

  • Provide for all aspects of nutrition care including; screening, assessment, planning, and implementation of the nutrition care plan

  • Responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of the nutrition intervention and communicating to all members of the healthcare team, in verbal and written form

  • Coordinate the experience of dietetic interns while at Scottish Rite to ensure their effective education

  • Coordinate the clinical area with the food service area of the department

  • Organize and appropriately staff the clinical area

  • Manage the clinical personnel which include: orientation, training, scheduling, performance evaluation reviews, productivity, and employee-manager relations

  • Effectively communicate to management, subordinates, inside and outside of the department, the organization and the profession

  • Organize the clinical procedures and policies of the Dietary Department following the standards set by TJC and Scottish Rite

  • Utilize information systems to facilitate clinical procedures and calculations

  • Ensure quality care and documentation of nutrition care services

  • Demonstrate knowledge of child development basic to the care of infants, toddlers, pre-school, school age children, and adolescents

    Required Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with a major in Food and Nutrition is required. Master's degree desired.

  • Registered by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

  • Board Certified in Pediatric Nutrition preferred.

  • Licensed by the State of Texas as a Registered Dietitian or eligible

  • Clinical experience in a pediatric nutrition practice required.

  • Experience supervising a clinical team of Registered Dietitians strongly preferred.
