Cartamundi Bilingual, HSE Manager (Health, Safety & Environmental) in Dallas, Texas

The Bilingual HSE Manager (Health, Safety & Environmental) is responsible for the development, implementation, and support of strategies, systems and programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment at manufacturing plant. Our Dallas operation manufacturers Cartamundi trading cards, specialty cards and collectible card games.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement inspection policies, procedures, and scheduled inspections

  • Inspect the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risk.

  • Plan, implement and conduct preventative safety and compliance training program

  • Provide reporting and analysis, on all related safety topics / issues

  • Monitor compliance with safety procedures

  • Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings

  • Ensure that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible

  • Maintain records of hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required

  • Collaborate with Management team to develop and implement an Emergency Action Plan when injuries and accidents occur

  • Manage Worker’s Compensation loss control programs, including OSHA reporting

  • Ensure that required permits are acquired, and reported to regulatory agencies, along with site permit conditions (e.g. sampling, record keeping)

  • Achieve annual goals of zero to minimal incidents

  • Interface with regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, State/Local Regulators)

  • Act as a resource to plant management teams regarding all security related issues

  • Administer plant hearing conversation program and annual audiometric testing

  • Coordinate industrial hygiene, and monitoring efforts

    Who We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required (in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field

  • 5 years of related experience

  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies, with regards to production operations

  • Knowledge on manufacturing EPA requirements, (i.e. disposing of waste, and/or handling chemical spills, and communicating safety procedures and response such incidents)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience providing training, and procedural safety guidance / requirements to employees

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (verbally in English & Spanish)

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) at a fluent level is required

    Physical requirements and working conditions

    Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:

  • Work effectively in teams across functional groups with strong communication (verbal and written) skills (see language requirement noted above)

  • Move throughout the entire facility to respond to safety incidents

  • Perform sedentary work on various computer systems

  • This is a full-time position, located onsite at our Dallas facility, scheduled to work Monday - Friday

  • On call may be required, to support unexpected safety incidents or emergencies
